imageVision

The vision is to show God's love in practical ways to the communities in North Bristol. 'The Noise' is a high profile weekend showing what the local church is about all year round. It's an opportunity for Christians from all backgrounds and churches to serve in the urban estates of North Bristol and partner with local church. It's not a 'one off event' because the vision is always looking to inspire sustainable initiatives in these communities and encourage the ongoing work in a fresh way. Many of the projects that run will continue throughout the year - such as kids clubs, sports activities, and events for senior citizens. The Noise is a great way of promoting these ongoing activities and developing relationships with people who would like to access this ongoing provision.

The Noise is a nationwide initiative (started by a Christian organisation called Soul Survivor) aiming to mobilise Christians to make a difference in their local community. Essentially, it is about using acts and deeds of service to communicate the heart of the good news of Jesus. It's about getting out of our church buildings and 'showing God's love in practical ways' to the people around us. The basis for The Noise is a life of worship, love, evangelism and servanthood.

Worship
The Bible tells us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'love your neighbour as yourself'" (Matthew 22:37-39). Our service to the community during the Noise weekend (whether it's painting railings, helping at a kids club, or playing football with young people) is an act of worship to our awesome God.

Love
The Bible says "let us love one another, for love comes from God" (1 John 4:7). God loves the world. He loves the people of Horfield, Lockleaze and Manor Farm so much more deeply than we are able to comprehend. The Noise is an opportunity for us to demonstrate God's love for the people around us.

Evangelism
The Bible makes it clear that we're all called to evangelism - to tell the world about our God and the life that is open to everyone through what Jesus has done for us. It's quite hard to do this if we stay in our church buildings all the time! The Noise is a great opportunity to get out there and meet the people who need an opportunity to hear about the amazing God we follow.

Servanthood
Jesus made it clear that he came to serve and not to be served. The Son of God demonstrated his love for his disciples by dressing down and washing their feet. He demonstrated his love for us all by dying on the cross. The Noise is an opportunity for us to follow his example and serve those around us.
