There are many different aspects to the Noise Weekend, so have a look and see in what ways we are looking to serve the communities of North Bristol. You can register to be a NOISE volunteer on one day or two days or the whole weekend - Saturday 1st May (9am-5pm), Sunday 2nd May (2-5pm) and Monday 3rd May (9am-5pm). More details about timings of each day will appear here soon.

imageProjects

Over the 3 days, we will be involved in a range of community action projects including:

* Rubbish & litter clearance in community areas
* School playground and public park renovation
* Projects in Sheltered housing accommodation
* Mural painting
* and much more...

If you have a specific skill/interest in a particular type of project, please do tell us when you register. Equally, if you need to avoid certain types of projects (e.g. if you have a bad back so don't want to be gardening!), please let us know in advance. You may be approached before the weekend and asked to be involved in a particular project. However, most volunteers will find out which project they will be involved with when they register at the start of the weekend.

The Noise is working closely with other local community organisations (statutory and voluntary), so that together we can identify the projects which will be of most benefit to the community.

imageFun Afternoons
On each afternoon of the Noise weekend, we are intending to run 'FREE Community Fun Afternoons' across the community. In previous years, these have been successful times, where the whole community is invited and many different age-related zones, bouncy castles, cafe, all-afternoon roadshow, etc. More details nearer the time.

Here are details at the moment (subject to permission of use of land).
Saturday 1st May - LOCKLEAZE fun afternoon (12pm - 2pm)
Saturday 1st May - SEA MILLS fun afternoon (2.30pm - 4.30pm)
Sunday 2nd May - HORFIELD fun afternoon  (2.30pm - 4.30pm)
Monday 3rd May - SOUTHMEAD fun afternoon  (2.30pm - 4.30pm)

imageKids Events
On the Saturday and Monday of the Noise Weekend, we will running kids events in Upper Horfield and Southmead. Fast moving, fun, creative and all children in the area will be invited along, through publicising in all local primary schools and existing kids clubs. More details will appear on this page.

We are looking for volunteers who have heart for working with children to be part of these teams. Let us know on your registration form, when you book.

imageBanquet
On Sunday afternoon, we are hosting a large banquet for senior citizens in Horfield and Lockleaze. Last year, it was great to welcome over 100 senior citizens to 3 course banquet, light entertainment, short after-dinner talk and real 'sense of occasion'.

If you would like to be on the team facilitating these events, then please let us know when booking. We look to have teams who particularly want to work with senior citizens. It is great fun and delicious food!!

imageSports

During each afternoon of the Noise Weekend, we will have teams who will be organising sports activities for young people across the area. If 'sports' is your thing, then let us know. More details soon.
